Joe Saliba
MD, MSc, FRCSC

Dr Joe Saliba is an ear-nose and throat (ENT) surgeon specialized in the care of patients with hearing loss, vestibular schwannomas, cochlear implants, vertigo and other ear- and skull-base related disorders. He graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, and was awarded the prestigious Holmes’ Gold Medal, given to the student with the highest academic standing upon completion of four years of medical school. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at McGill with numerous awards, and joined the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. In addition, he pursued a joint Master’s degree in Science at the prestigious Stanford University in California, studying music perception in patients with cochlear implants. Dr Joe Saliba then completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship training in Neurotology & skull base surgery at the renowned University of California – San Diego. He has since been appointed as a Faculty and surgeon at the University of Montreal.

Akram Rahal
MD, FRCSC

Dr. Rahal graduated in medicine from the University of Montreal in 1998 and from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in otorhinolaryngology in 2003. He completed a fellowship in plastic surgery and facial reconstruction, cranio-maxillofacial surgery and the base of the skull at the university Hospital Bern in Switzerland in 2004 and in Head and Neck reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in 2005. He graduated from the American Board of Otolaryngology in 2006 and the American Board of facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2009. Currently, Dr. Rahal is an active member of the otorhinolaryngology service and neck surgery of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital and an associate member of the Centre hospitalier Pierre Le Gardeur. His areas of expertise are especially septo-rhinoplasty, neck reconstruction, cranio-maxillofacial surgery, reanimation of facial paralysis.

Christian Ahmarani
MD, FRCSC

Dr. Ahmarani studied medicine at the University of Montreal and did his specialization in otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the same university. He subsequently spent two years of overspecialization in France in the field of facial reconstruction. Currently he is the head of the otorhinolaryngology division and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Montreal. His involvement and interest in the research and development of cosmetic and reconstructive nose surgery are undeniable. His field of expertise is facial plastic surgery.

Eve Thibaudeau
MD, FRCSC

After studying Art History at McGill University and graduating with an Honors Degree, Dr Thibaudeau completed her medical studies and specialization in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Montreal, winning several awards during her residency. She has been practicing general otolaryngology since graduating. Her personal interests include facial plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as pediatric otolaryngology, both fields in which she has completed subspecialized training

Issam Saliba
MD, FRCSC

Dr Saliba is a Clinical Professor in the department of surgery and director of research at the otorhinolaryngology division of the University of Montreal. He is the medical director of the Polyclinique Centre-Ville since 2013. Dr Saliba has obtained his medical degree from the Lebanese University in 1996 and finished his otorhinolaryngology training at the University of Montreal in 2001. His major interests for pathologies of the ears, dizziness and skull base tumors have led him to complete two years of fellowship in Montreal and at Paul Sabatier University - Toulouse III in France to eventually join the ENT services of the CHUM, Maisonneuve-Rosemont and Sainte-Justine university hospitals. In addition to his clinical work, his interest in research is crucial, which has led him to develop two new surgical techniques: one for tympanic membrane perforations and another for the treatment of Meniere's disease.

Jean-Claude Tabet
MD, FRCSC

Dr. Tabet is an assistant professor of otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery at the University of Montreal. He works at Notre-Dame hospital of the CHUM since 1990 where he was the head of the department for several years. Dr. Tabet graduated in medicine and ENT at the University of Montreal. He completed two years of training in oncological surgery of the head and neck, the last one at the Eye & Ear Institute, University of Pittsburgh. His interest in addition to general ENT includes tumoral pathologies of the head and neck.

Joseph Haikal
MD, FRCSC

Dr Haikal is a specialist in otorhinolaryngology. He graduated from the University of Montreal. He holds an ENT specialist certificate from the Quebec province (CSPQ). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons FRCSC. He graduated from the American Board of otolaryngology. He has developed an expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with snoring and/or sleep apnea. He has a particular interest in occupational medicine where he developed an expertise in the assessment of professional deafness.

Louis Guertin
MD, FRCSC

Dr. Guertin studied medicine (1981-1986), and specialized in otolaryngology (1986-1991) at the University of Sherbrooke. He completed two years of overspecialization in Head and Neck oncology at Montreal and Paris (1991-1993). Professor and academic vice-director of the department of surgery at University of Montreal. He is also the chief of the ENT department of the CHUM. His interests in otolaryngology are Head and Neck cancer surgery (ENT cancers, thyroid gland diseases and salivary gland diseases), voice disorders and swallowing problems.

Lyne Desnoyers
MD, FRCSC, FACS

Dr Desnoyers completed her medical training and a residency in ENT at Université de Montréal. She is Board Certified in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada) and from the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1989. Doctor Desnoyers pursued an academic career for many years at St-Luc Hospital (CHUM) as an assistant professor of clinic. Since 2017, she works at Notre-Dame Hospital and at the Polyclinique Centre-Ville. Her interests include pedagogy and clinical teaching as well as general ENT and phonation pathologies.

Martin Desrosiers
MD, FRCSC

Dr Martin Desrosiers is an ear nose and throat surgeon (ENT) specialized in medical problems of the nose and sinuses and in endoscopic anterior skull base surgery for inflammatory disease and tumors. Dr Desrosiers did both his medical and speciality training at the Université de Montréal, and complemented these with a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In addition to his clinical activities, for the past 20 years he has lead research efforts into improving our understanding of sinusitis, which has contributed to his recognition worldwide as an international expert in sinus disease. He is affiliated with the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), where he holds the title of Clinical Professor. He sees patients on Wednesday mornings and welcomes new referrals for sinus-related issues.

Olivier Abboud
MD, FRCSC

Dr. Abboud graduated in 2012 from the University of Montreal in otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. His interest in salivary glands diseases led him to perfect a training in endoscopic surgery of the salivary glands, in Switzerland.

Yalon A. Dolev
MD, FRCSC

Dr Dolev is a Head and Neck Surgeon who specializes in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Dolev completed his undergraduate degree in Physiology with a minor in the Social Studies of Medicine. He then received his MD degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Fascinated by the intricate anatomy of the head and neck, he continued on to complete his residency at McGill University’s Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery program. He then went on to complete a Fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center. During his training, Dr. Dolev gained a better appreciation for the artistry and creativity involved in both the cosmetic and reconstructive aspects of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His training in both Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provide Dr. Dolev with an intimate understanding of the anatomy of the head and neck and all of the complex conditions that affect it. This provides him with the unique ability to safely and comprehensively treat functional, aesthetic and reconstructive conditions.
