Allergy test

Your family doctor or an ENT suspecting allergic rhinitis after sneezing, itchy throat, congestion, and runny nose can refer you to an allergist. In fact, various triggers can cause allergies. A consultation with an allergist, specialist in allergic reactions, will help you identify causes of your allergies.

An individual may be sensitive to a variety of allergens, such as animals, dust mites, molds, etc. To detect which are specific to each, the allergist uses several different drops of allergen extracts to achieve a skin test. The drops are first placed on the forearm and small scratches are made on it using sterile needles. If the test is positive, redness and swelling appear where the allergen was placed.
