Kinesiology

The word kinesiology comes from the word Kinési meaning movement and the word logy, which means science. Kinesiology is the science of motion.

The Kinesiologist is the health professional, specialist in physical activity, which uses movement for purposes of prevention, treatment and performance. He is the medical professional who practices kinesiology.

The Kinesiologist’s mission is to optimize a motor performance and physical improvement of a person, with or without a particular condition, through a physical activity. The aim is to develop in our patients a self-determination in order to adopt a physically active lifestyle on a regular basis.

• The return to a normal physical activity after a brain concussion is a challenge for many patients. This could be manifested by instability. A self-regulation difficulty of the autonomic nervous system (the sympathetic system and the parasympathetic system) can make the return to physical effort very hard. An assessment of physical functions and heart recordings can give us the necessary information to establish a protocol for a  progressive return to physical activity. An effective multidisciplinary approach that gives an accurate picture of the level of post brain concussion physical recovery.
