Definition of osteopathy

Osteopathy is an approach aiming to identify and prevent body’s tissues mobility restrictions that may cause pain and health disorder.

It considers the person as a whole and is based on a thorough knowledge of human’s anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. In osteopathy, the different systems of the body (neuro-musculoskeletal, visceral, cranial …) are both interconnected and interdependent in their structure and function.

The objective of the osteopath is to restore the harmony of the entire body mechanic. By a fine palpation and specific techniques, he gives back the ability of movement to structures. The body finds its self-regulating capacity and improves its health potential.
